The number of nations at a World Championships sets a new record this year – in Switzerland in the coming week 53 nations will have one or more competitors taking part. Every one of these nations will be represented in the Sprint on Saturday.

Canada got its first ever medal at Junior World Orienteering Championships, when the young promising Canadian Emily Kemp won bronze on the long distance race in Slovakia today. Kemp was 2.59 behind the winner, Kirsi Nurmi from Finland. Nurmi got a fourth place in the sprint yesterday. Yesterday’s bronze medallist, Frida Sandberg (SWE) was today second best.
