“All four bids [Denmark, Estonia, France, and Japan] were of a very good standard, and all met the minimum criteria for a successful WMOC”, the Foot Orienteering Commission reported to the Council when proposing a short list for World Masters Orienteering Championships 2016: Denmark and Estonia.

The IOF Council has now decided on the qualification model for the long distance event at the World MTB Orienteering Championships.

The IOF Council has decided to extend the deadline for applications for the World Orienteering Championships and World Trail Orienteering Championships 2017.

At the moment, the IOF General Assembly is held every two years. In every General Assembly, the election for Council takes place. The IOF Council now discussed the possibility to extend the period a Council member sits in the Council from two to four years.

By the deadline of 18 January, five countries had applied to organise the European Youth Orienteering Championships 2013. The applicants include Hungary, Italy, Poland, Portugal, and Serbia.
