The European Working Group (EWG) received 5 applications to organise the European Youth Orienteering Championships 2013.
The EWG assessed the applications based on the following criteria: dates & weather conditions, venue, accommodation, terrains (quality, accessibility, novelty), organisers’ experience & application quality, spreading and development of orienteering.
Although all the applications were of high quality, only two applicants with the highest scores were chosen and are going to be visited by the EWG Chairman at the beginning of February to make the final decision: Poland and Portugal.
The 2013 EYOC organiser will be announced after these visits, at the latest on 15th February.
The date of the Event will be on 18th – 20th October or 25th – 27th October (depending on the organiser). Bulletin 1 will be published at the beginning of March, Bulletin 2 during July. The deadline for Team Entries will be April 30th, and the deadline for final entries September 30th.
