Whilst the athletes enjoyed a well-deserved rest day, yesterday the Member Federations of the IOF gathered for the biannual IOF Presidents’ Conference. The IOF Council gave an update on their work, and looked ahead to the General Assembly in 2018.

At today’s IOF Presidents’ Conference, the organisers of several IOF Major Events were announced. Most notably, the Czech Republic will host both the World Orienteering Championships in 2021 and the World MTB Orienteering Championships in 2020.

Tove Alexandersson, Sweden ran a near-perfect race in difficult terrain on the Long Distance today, with only Sprint champion Maj Alm, Denmark able to come anywhere near challenging her time.

At today’s meeting of the Orienteering Federations of Europe, it was decided to remove the European Working Group from the IOF structure, and in stead work to establish recognized sub-regional groups.
03/07/2017 || Redistribution of championship medals from WSOC and ESOC ||News||
Following the Anti-Doping Rule violation of a Russian Ski Orienteering athlete and disqualification of all her results from the European Ski Orienteering Championships 2017 and the World Ski Orienteering Championships 2017, the IOF Council have decided that the medals will now be redistributed according to the new results.
