Erik Skovgaard Knudsen, World Cup series winner in 2010, started his 2011 campaign in the best possible way with a victory in the first race this year, a sprint in the town of Tapolca in Hungary. Marika Hara, Finland, third in the World Cup last year, won the women’s race.

This year’s World Ski Orienteering Championships in Sweden are over. The Championships were a success when it comes to visibility: GPS tracking was used for the first time, the spectators could follow the routes of the athletes on the big screen at the arena, and ski orienteering was shown on TV in several countries.
