Invitation to IOF Trail Orienteering Event Advisers Clinic

A Trail Orienteering Event Advisers’ Clinic will be organised in conjunction with the O-Ringen in Sweden, 22-24 July.
This clinic is organised for the education and recruitment of new IOF licensed Trail Orienteering Event Advisers. National orienteering federations are kindly asked to identify and enter suitable candidates.

| Course Objectives and requirements: | The main objective of this IOF Trail Orienteering Event Advisers’ Clinic is to prepare participants to be licensed IOF Trail Orienteering Event Advisers.
The requirements for licensing are: 1. Be an active and experienced trail orienteer. |
| Course Content: | • Understanding of the task of an IOF Trail Orienteering Event Adviser • Deeper understanding of the nature of orienteering and each format of TrailO (traditional TrailO and TempO) • Understanding of the IOF Trail Orienteering Competition Rules and requirements for international competition The course will include a longer field exercise in course setting and controlling |
| Accommodation & meals: |
O-Ringen competitors may already have accommodation booked for the week. Otherwise we recommend the O-Ringen website to find accommodation Participation in Regional TrailO championship on Friday and lunch on Saturday are included in the Clinic entry fee. |
| Travel: | Bollnäs can be reached by train in about 2½-3 hours from Stockholm. |
| Material: | The following IOF publications will be used at the Clinic:
• IOF Trail Orienteering Competition Rules The material is available at the IOF website www.orienteering.org and should have been read through beforehand. |
