The IOF Council has approved the compositions of the IOF Commissions for 2013-2014.
25/10/2012 || No long qualification race at the World MTB Orienteering Championships ||News||
The IOF Council approved in its recent meeting a the change to the rules regarding the long distance event at the World Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships. According to the new rules, valid from 1 January 2013, there will no longer be a qualification race for the long distance in the World Championships.

The International Orienteering Federation, in cooperation with British Orienteering, is pleased to announce the 5th IOF High Level Event Seminar (HLES) to be organised in Edinburgh, Scotland, during 2-3 February 2013.
22/10/2012 || North American Orienteering Championships: Crocker and Smith claim two golds, USA wins the Björn Kjellström Cup ||News||
The 2012 North American Orienteering Championships were held at the Delaware Water Gap, about 100 kilometers to the west of New York City, with individual races in the Middle, Long, and Sprint distances and a concluding relay. This was also the 17th biennial competition for the Björn Kjellström Cup, contested by the senior teams from Canada and the USA, as well as the initial competition for the Future Champions Cup for the junior teams.
21/10/2012 || Asian Orienteering Championships: double victories for Shuangyan Hao and Qiaoping Li ||News||
The Asian Orienteering Championships at Wuxi, a town beside the lower reaches of the Yangtze River in China, had individual races in Sprint and Middle distance, both won by the leading Chinese orienteers Shuangyan Hao and Qiaoping Li.

The IOF hereby invites all member federations to submit applications to organise the below listed IOF events in the years 2014–2017. The applications must reach the IOF Secretariat by 1 January 2013.

The IOF Council has approved the membership application from the Orienteering Federation of the Republic of Azerbaijan. This means that the IOF now has 74 members.
