19/11/2012 || Sprint Relay in the World Orienteering Championships from 2014 ||News||
At the 2012 IOF General Assembly in Lausanne, Switzerland, a new programme for the World Orienteering Championships was decided on, including the introduction of a new format, the Sprint Relay. The first implementation of Sprint Relay in the World Orienteering Championships will be in 2014 in Italy, after which it will be a permanent format on the programme.

The next edition of the IOF High Level Event Seminar will be organised in Edinburgh, Great Britain, during 2-3 February 2013. The seminar targets appointed organisers, potential future organisers and key persons of IOF High Level Events, including already appointed IOF Senior Event Advisers.

The preparations for the European Youth Orienteering Championships (EYOC) 2013 in Israel are proceeding as scheduled. The Chairman of the European Working Group will make a control visit to Israel during 22-25 November.

Marit Wiksell, reigning European Champion in trail orienteering says she takes advantage of the pressure she has before competition: “I think this has been very important for my last successes”.
And successful she has been indeed: our Athlete of November got this year gold at the European Championships, and won the World TempO Trophy, O-Ringen, and the Swedish Championships.
