Sunday is the day marked in red for Yannich Michiels. Due to that he will not take part in the Sprint Relay.
“I am glad I have the opportunity to not take part in the Sprint Relay. That’s an advantage before the Final”, he says. “I can concentrate on my preparations for the individual Final”.
The Belgian was almost the first Belgian to win a World Cup race earlier this year, but only almost. He had the fastest time, but the race had to be annulled.

For months Yannick has been looking forward to August 3rd and the Sprint Final in the centre of Forres. “The goal is a medal and of course gold will be the very best”.
The Championships started with a very good qualification. He was the fastest in one of the groups and was 17 seconds faster than number two in the group, Andreas Kyburz from Switzerland. Michiels had the biggest gap to number two of the men’s winners. “I did a good race”, he says.
The Belgian is just where he wants to be, just before the Final day.
