Finnish and Russian athletes dominated the top end of the results in this year’s World Masters Ski Orienteering Championships, held in the past week in Ukraine.
The Champions are found from the combined results of two Long distance races. Closest result was in W40 where Galina Golovina, Russia won by just 6 seconds over the two days of racing. The most emphatic win was that of Carina Sandberg, Sweden in W45; she won by the huge margin of 40 minutes and 30 seconds. Some ski orienteers continue to a ripe old age: there were two competitors in the W80 class and one in M85.
