World Masters Orienteering Championships – Sprint finals: 10 nations have gold medallists

The gold medals in the 25 age classes were spread amongst 10 nations after today’s sprint finals in Komló, Hungary. 26 gold medals were in fact needed, the result of a tie for first place in W60 between Val Challacombe, Great Britain and Yvette Zaugg, Switzerland.
Apart from this tie, the closest race was in M50 where last year’s gold medallist, Tim Tett (Great Britain), failed by just one second to repeat the achievement. This time the gold went to Sergey Kokorin, Russia. At the other end of the scale, Eero Tuuteri, Finland won M90 by more than 13 minutes!
