Posted on | May 9, 2011 | Category: News
This year’s World Masters Orienteering Championships will take place in the UNESCO World Heritage city of Pécs in Hungary during 28 June – 10 July. The event will be truly international as there are already entries from all six IOF regions with 3300 participants in total according to the last information by the organiser. The Senior Event Adviser, Jan R. Lien, who just recently visited Pécs in April praises in his letter (www.wmoc2011.hu) the quality of maps and describes the Mecsek hills terrain exotic for most foreign runners. The Long distance terrain will be organized on a rather hilly, karstic area with depressions of varying size while the Sprint area is characterized with passages through the parks, courtyards and narrow streets of town Komló.
Make sure to guarantee your spot in the biggest IOF event of the year and make your entry by tomorrow, 10 May.
An IOF Event Advisers clinic will also be organized in conjunction with World Masters Orienteering Championships on 4 July. For more information on the clinic, please click here.
