WOC Guidelines updated
Posted on | January 3, 2012 | Category: News
A new edition of the Guidelines for World Orienteering Championships (WOC) organisers has been published.
These Guidelines are designed to help World Orienteering Championships Organisers interpret the IOF Rules and be well prepared for the scale and complexity of the work involved. They are not a complete set of instructions for organising the competition, but they aim to cover the special features of organising a WOC. Note should also be made of the Leibnitz Convention agreed at the 20th IOF Congress in 2000, which laid down principles for raising the profiles of all IOF Events in the future.
The Guidelines are based on experience in past World Championships. They will be changed and improved on the basis of further experience. Comments and proposals are therefore welcome and should be sent to the IOF Secretariat.
The Guidelines can be found in the Foot Orienteering menu under Event Organising -> Organisers’ Guidelines.
Important changes made for the Third Edition are denoted by a vertical line in the margin.
