GO to Greenland
Greenland has three orienteering clubs whose names are Ilulissat (with 50 members), Nuuk (with 35 orienteers) and Aasiaat which is the newest and have about 15 members. They are growing all the time.
Orienteers from many countries have traveled to see the nature in Greenland but the locals are wishing for more people to come.
The orienteers in Greenland have their weekly trainings and some events, and once in a while there are other events like adventure race or mountain running with light orienteering.
At their event in Nuuk participants had usually been 20 locals and 10 guests, as Christian Wennecke, one of the organisers says.
In North Greenland they have a three day event called AMO (arctic midnight orienteering) where they hope for more competitors to participate.
And in 2015 is the North Atlantic Orienteering Championships going to be held in Greenland!
