Two bids to host the World Orienteering Championships

By the application deadline of 31 January 2009, Finland and Italy have submitted their bids to organise the World Orienteering and the World Trail Orienteering Championships in 2013.
Bulgaria, Czech Republic and Slovakia have applied to host the Junior World Orienteering Championships in 2012, and for the World Masters Orienteering Championships in 2012 applications have arrived from Brazil, China, Estonia, Germany, Italy, Latvia and Sweden.
Hungary has applied to host the World Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships and the Junior World Mountain Bike Orienteering Championships in 2012.
The organisers for all the above-mentioned events will be appointed by the IOF Council by 31 October 2009.
Application deadline for Ski Orienteering Junior World Championships and World Masters Championships in 2011 is 15 April 2009.
