When the new Competition Rules for IOF Trail Orienteering Events came into effect 1 February 2011, also the rules for the Team Competition changed. Here is a short summary of the changes.
The second day of the individual competitions is, as before, also the World Team Championship competition. According to the new rules, the federations shall enter a team of three competitors, including at least one open class competitor and at least one paralympic class competitor. Each federation may only nominate one team. Entries for the Team Competition, including the names of the three competitors who will make up the scoring team, shall reach the organiser by 18.00 hours on the day before the second course.
These rules (link) will be used in the World Trail Orienteering Championships in France in August 2011.
