The IOF seeks an Assistant to the Secretary General

The role will include acting as a resource for the Secretary General, undertaking office administration and extensive communication with national orienteering federations worldwide.
The position is full-time, based at the IOF Secretariat in Helsinki. Starting date is 5 March 2007 (negotiable).
The Assistant must
be able to work efficiently and independently in a small office environment and be capable of managing the office and assuming responsibility for office administration in the absence of the Secretary General
possess high level communication skills
provide evidence of thorough planning and the ability to meet deadlines
demonstrate initiative and the ability to respond to changing circumstance
be experienced in the use of PC applications in a Windows environment, with skills to update the federation’s website
be fluent in both written and oral English, and have an understanding of Finnish
Additional languages, knowledge of sports administration, experience of working with volunteers and of managing projects will be seen as advantageous.
