Switzerland win Sprint Relay in tight finish

Rahel Friederich, Switzerland reached the finish line just 4 seconds ahead of Helena Jansson, Sweden at the end of a fast and furious Sprint Relay in Trzebnica, Poland this afternoon. The Swiss team led throughout, with Judith Wyder just ahead of the pack at the end of the first leg. Denmark took third place.

Andreas Kyburz pulled out a 35 second lead over the Swede Gustav Berman on the second leg, and brother Matthias, being chased by Jonas Leandersson, maintained that lead precisely on the third leg. Denmark were by then also going well, Søren Bobach coming up from 6th to 3rd., 44 seconds down on the lead.
Both Helena Jansson and the Danish last leg runner, Maja Alm, were faster than Rahel Friederich on last leg, but Jansson was just unable to catch her and Alm finished 30 seconds down.
