For a third time the IOF and the World Orienteering Championships organisers held a development clinic for the newer IOF countries in order to help them develop the sport in their country, and to participate in the World Orienteering Championships.
Seven countries sent athletes and coaches to the clinic in Finland: Argentina, Azerbaijan, Chinese Taipei, Moldova, Montenegro, Serbia, and Uruguay. The participants were very keen to learn everything that was prepared for them.
During the clinic they had the opportunity to practice in the beautiful terrain and forest of Vuokatti. Several training sessions were organised close to the WOC village.
The atmosphere at the Clinic was very warm and all participants enjoyed their stay. “New friendships start from here”, said one of them.
The lectures, and the knowledge and experience gained at the clinic will also help the participants to organise orienteering activities on a higher level when back at home.
