Sub-regional cooperation in full swing
Posted on | March 10, 2011 | Category: News
Last August, the XXV IOF General Assembly agreed to recognise the Confederation of Orienteering Federations of the Mediterranean Sea, when the Mediterranean orienteering federations would establish it. Now the first Council meeting of the new Confederation has been held, together with the South East European Working Group meeting in Belgrade, Serbia. The meeting dealt with issues such as Mediterranean Championships, rules, and proposals from member federations, and the participants – representing 11 countries – seemed satisfied with the outcome.
Sub-regional development
In January 2011, Montenegro became IOF member no. 72. Now the reports from the Mediterranean and South East European meetings say the sub-regional cooperation is bringing further results: there may be one or two new membership applications reaching the IOF later this year!
