Ski Orienteering World Cup: Russians ahead in Sprint and Relay standings

The Russians Natalya Tomilova and Kiril Veselov hold the lead in the Sprint World Cup standings after the mixed sprint relay, the last race in the Bulgaria round. Russia also holds a narrow lead in both the men’s and women’s Relay standings.
In the women’s Sprint list, Tomilova leads by 10 points ahead of Sweden’s Josefine Engström. Marte Reenaas, Norway, who enjoyed a highly successful set of races in Bulgaria, is third, 10 points down on Engström.
Veselov has a 13 point lead over fellow countryman Eduard Khrennikov who is enjoying a welcome revival of form this season. Third is the much-improved Norwegian Lars Moholdt.
In the Relay standings at the half-way point in the season, Russia’s lead is by just 2 points over Norway in the men’s, and 3 points over Sweden in the women’s.
