The 2012 IOF General Assembly (GA) will be held tomorrow, and this morning the customary pre-GA seminar was held.
In this seminar the formal meeting procedures applying to the GA were outlined and explained. In particular, there are 4 proposals relating to the format of the World Championships in the future, and IOF President Åke Jacobson outlined the procedure which will be followed to ensure logical progression of the debates.
All the candidates for President, Vice President and Council positions gave short presentations. There are two nominations for President, Brian Porteous (Great Britain) and Helge Sögaard (Denmark), to replace Åke Jacobson, Sweden, who is retiring this year.
The seminar ended with presentations on ‘Ski Orienteering in the Future’ and ‘Growing our Global Sport’.
