Sara Lüscher: Felt the pressure, ran a great race
Posted on | October 4, 2015 | Category: Arena
The two previous days before the sprint relay Sara Lüscher did really well. It wasn’t so strange that she for first time got the last leg in a sprint relay.
– I was ready to start early. I have good teammates, smiles Lücher.
Almost as expected, the Swiss were in front of everybody else from the start. At every change over they were leading. Rahel Friedrich started and Matthias Kybruz and Martin Hubmann went on.
Sara started on the last leg with a margin 59 seconds to Finland at the relay in central Arosa where it was snowing a lot just before the relay, but the sun warmed well and the snow melted away.
– I had some nerves and didn’t do my best in the start, but from the second control it went well.
Sara and her teammates finished 1.15 minutes before Finland.
For Sara it was the third excellent race during the end of the World Cup. She was third on both the individual races.
– It has been great to get podium place on both distances.
Overall in the World Cup she ended as number two.
She is together with Fabian Hertner, one of the big Swiss in men’s class. They live in Winterthur, close to Zürich.
When she is not practicing her sport she is studying biology 50 per cent of full time.
