Junior World Orienteering Championships – Sweden and Poland win gold

Junior World Championships in Poland ended with relay today. Women’s relay became a thriller when Denmark’s Ita Klingenberg did not have her best day on the first leg, and Denmark was 5 minutes behind the leader. After Emma Klingenberg’s and Ida Bobach’s good runs Denmark finished third.
But it was Sweden that was today faster than anybody else, and Tove Alexandersson could celebrate her first gold medal from these championships. Czech Republic finished second.
Men’s relay was exciting to the end. After the first leg Estonia was leading the race, after the second leg Austria – but in the end it was the home team Poland that took home the victory. Sweden and Czech Republic got their second medals today.
