At the Junior Long Distance prize-giving, Isabel Salen stepped up to the highest place. She got the medal that was missing.
The Swede has also a gold from the Relay last year. Individually she took silver and bronze in Estonia last year. “I had a very good race today”, she says.
The junior winner is from Luleå in the northern part of Sweden, but on weekdays she isn’t at home. She is at the combined sports gymnasium for orienteering and ski orienteering in Älvsby. It’s just 60 kilometres from her home.
“I live in lodgings for the pupils during the week. I want to live there and be part of the community”, she says. At the school there’s a lot of good training.
Isabel is 18 years old and has one year left as a junior.
