Iran IOF member nr 76

The IOF Council has at its meeting in Prague, Czech Republic, this morning approved Iran as an IOF member.
Iranian sportsmen have previously participated in ski orienteering in the Asian Winter Games, a participation that resulted in an Iranian medal in Kazakshtan in 2011, and in foot orienteering in the CISM Military World Games in Brazil in 2011. Now they will be able to participate in all IOF Events as well.
The IOF now has 76 members. The Council’s decision needs to be ratified by the IOF General Assembly in 2014.
