IOF World Rankings: World Champions Hausken and Hubmann moving up
Posted on | August 14, 2008 | Category: News
Anne Margrethe Hausken, Norway, and Daniel Hubmann, Switzerland, who both won a gold medal in the World Championships in Czech Republic, are moving up in the World Rankings: Hubmann to a 3rd and Hausken to a 6th place.
Thierry Gueorgiou (FRA) and Simone Niggli-Luder (SUI) still lead the World Ranking list, which includes competitions from the past 12 months. Niggli-Luder, currently expecting her first child, will lose her leading position at the end of August, when her points from the World Championships 2007 do not count anymore.
In women’s rankings, the Finns Heli Jukkola and Minna Kauppi have held their positions – 2nd and 3rd – as has Matthias Merz, Switzerland, in the men’s. Andrey Khramov (RUS), the Sprint World Champion, has advanced from an 8th place before the WOC to a 4th place after the WOC. Also the Czech runners Dana Brozkova (15->12), Eva Jurenikova (20->15), Radka Brozkova (23->16), Michal Smola (12->9) and Tomas Dlabaja (26->13) have improved their positions after their strong performances at the World Championships.
The full rankings lists are updated weekly and can be accessed via World Rankings in the menu on the IOF website’s front page.
