Invitation to the IOF Ski Orienteering Event Advisers’ Clinic in Austria – Abtenau, 10–11 January 2009

This Ski Orienteering Event Advisers’ Clinic is organised for the education and recruitment of new IOF licensed Event Advisers. The national orienteering federations are kindly asked to identify and enter suitable candidates.
In addition to individuals seeking to obtain an IOF Event Adviser licence, the Ski Orienteering Commission also welcomes to the clinic team leaders and athletes interested in acquainting themselves with the Competition Rules for IOF Ski Orienteering Events and other ski orienteering related matters.

Date: January 10–11, 2009
Venue: WMOC and Ski-O Tour event venue, Abtenau, Austria
Planned start at 4 p.m. on Saturday and closing at 4 p.m. on Sunday
Accommodation: Can be ordered through Ski-O Tour website (www.skiotour.eu) or arranged individually
Programme: The clinic programme will consist of lectures, discussions and group work, and of observing the WMOC and WRE events and activities. In addition to the main theory sessions on Saturday, January 10, the programme will, among other things, include attendance at the team leader meetings. The presence of the clinic participants at both WMOC and WRE events is recommended, as it will give them an insight into the practical work of the Event Adviser. Detailed time table and programme will be provided to the registered participants in advance by email and it is available later at the Ski-O Tour website.

The above material is available at the IOF website at www.orienteering.org. The participants are asked to download and acquaint themselves with the material beforehand.
