Ida Bobach: no injuries and stronger than ever

Ida Bobach won the battle with Tove Alexandersson in the first race of the World Cup’s second round with an impressive race – and with extra power!
The Dane’s performance at Prestebakke in the municipality of Halden was remarkably good.
“Mistakes? No. I managed to slow down my speed ahead of the controls, and didn’t have any misses, and I am in good physical shape”, the winner smiles.
Since March she has had no injuries. That’s the first time for a couple of years. “But I am still careful and not running too much”, she says. She is anyway getting stronger and stronger in terrain that is a bit more challenging and hilly than in Denmark.
“I have done a lot of strength training. That has given results and I have become a stronger runner. I think that is important both for this year’s WOC and also next year’s. In the last months I have also been to some camps in this part of Norway and close to it in Sweden. Just a few weeks ago there was a training camp for the national team in Halden.
The Dane has three silvers from WOC. In 2011 she unexpectedly took second place on the Middle distance as a final-year junior. One year ago it was a new Middle silver and also the same medal on the Relay.
– The goal this year?
“That has to be gold!”
At WOC she wants to take part in Long, Middle and Relay.
