Hubmann: “A very special gold”

Posted on | August 5, 2015 | Category: Arena

For Daniel Hubmann the victory on the Middle Distance was special in a lot of ways. The Swiss star won the Middle just three seconds in front of the young senior Lucas Basset from France.

Hubmann had won gold in Sprint, Long and Relay from previous WOCs earlier. The Middle gold was his fourth individual gold. “The gold this time is the first after I injured my Achilles tendon in 2012, and it was also the first on the Middle Distance”.

In 2012 he got the injury in the Relay and finished in great pain. The 32-year-old athlete was soon back and has gradually picked up his old form.
