HLES 2013 in Edinburgh breaking records

The upcoming IOF High Level Event Seminar (HLES) in Edinburgh, Great Britain, 2-3 February generates a record interest. With still almost a week to the deadline, over 40 participants from 12 nations ranging from Spain to Hong Kong have entered, which beats all previous participation numbers.
“We are delighted that HLES continues to attract the top level organisers of the orienteering world” says Björn Persson, IOF Sports Director and seminar leader. “It is an evidence of the need of a forum for experience transfer at the highest level, where future organisers meet and learn from past events and from event specialists”, he continues.
Nine lecturers from five different nations will give presentations at this the 5th HLES. The programme includes the two orienteering highlights of 2012, World Orienteering Championships in Switzerland and European Orienteering Championships in Sweden, as well as lectures in the critical areas of communication infrastructure and IT. The new World Orienteering Championships programme will also be an important subject, with presentations related to both the event structure and to the new Sprint Relay format.
