The third IOF High Level Event Seminar gathered 26 participants from all over the world to learn about course planning for high level events.
Senior Event Advisers for World Championships, World Championships organisers, World Cup course planners and event directors, and event advisers and organisers on all levels followed lectures on the four different formats of orienteering, the elite runner’s perspective, on course planning, planning for TV, organising an high level event, and on arena and IT. The lecturers were Karel Jonak, Sports producer from the Czech Television, Radek Novotny, Head Coach of the Czech National Team, and IOF Sports Director Björn Persson.
The two-day programme also included a group work session where all the groups got the same challenging task: plan courses on a combined arena for World Championships long distance and relay. And the arena they got – that was of course Granåsen, Norway.
Event Advisers and Organisers from 11 countries participated at the High Level Event Seminar.
