Helena Jansson and Fabian Hertner win sprint finals
Posted on | June 23, 2010 | Category: News
Helena Jansson SWE and Fabian Hertner SUI won the knock-out sprint in the old town of Stockholm this evening. In the women’s race, Simone Niggli was in the lead until she made a mistake on the very last section of the course with only 2 controls to go, and dropped down to fifth place. Fabian Hertner led the men’s race throughout but his winning margin over the young Swede Jerker Lysell was only 4 seconds. World Cup leader Daniel Hubmann made a big mistake early on in the course and could not get back in touch with the rest of the field.
Warm summer weather and lots of absorbed spectators made for a fine atmosphere around the old streets and alleyways of central Stockholm.
