Last year it was clear only just before the WOC started that Thierry Gueorgiou could take part, since he had had a lot of injuries. This year there is no doubt that he can run and do very well.

The ‘French phantom’ was second in his qualification group, 40 seconds behind the Finn Jani Lakanen. He has got himself a good start position before the first forest final in Finland.

“I am in good shape”, says Thierry. “Now I have had no injuries since WOC a year ago.

– What’s the goal?

“A perfect race and a medal!”

– What about gold?

“Of course that’s the very best I can hope for!”
