The Estonian Orienteering Federation submitted an application to organise the World Orienteering Championships (WOC) 2017.
IOF Sports Director Björn Persson has visited the intended event sites, and concludes his impressions in his report: “From the conditions and plans presented during the visit, as well as the areas visited and evaluated, I judge that the concept idea will be feasible and that a WOC in Estonia centered in Otepää has the potential to be a high quality event. Estonian orienteering has the necessary degree of organizational experience, technical development and terrain resources to make a successful WOC.”
The IOF Council will discuss the application in its meeting next week in Prague, Czech Republic.
