The IOF Ski Orienteering Athletes’ Commission held its second meeting this year in Madona, Latvia, in conjunction with the European Ski Orienteering Championships. The minutes can now be read on the Athletes’ Commission page.

The European Working Group (EWG) has decided to appoint Portugal as the substitute organiser of the European Youth Orienteering Championships (EYOC) 2013. The event is now scheduled for 24-27 October and the event centre will be in a holiday centre in Foz do Arelho in Caldas da Rainha municipality.

The favourites Russia won the women’s relay, but it was close – Sweden finished just 12 seconds behind. In the men’s race the gap was 21 seconds between first and second, Norway just ahead of Russia as had been the case more or less throughout the race.
16/02/2013 || European Ski Orienteering Championships: second gold for Kozlova ||News||
The Russian athlete Tatyana Kozlova followed up her victory in the Long race two days ago by winning the individual Sprint today with an impressive margin of 26 seconds. Bulgaria’s Stanimir Belomazhev, leader in the IOF SkiO World Rankings, enjoyed a 1-second victory in the men’s race.
14/02/2013 || European Ski Orienteering Championships: Kozlova and Arnesson win long distance golds ||News||
Today’s long distance race with three loops after a mass start ended with victories for Tatyana Kozlova of Russia, silver medallist at this distance at the last World SkiO Championships, and Peter Arnesson, Sweden who just missed a medal in yesterday’s Middle race.
