The IOF IT Commission organises an open meeting “Technology in Orienteering” in conjunction with the World Orienteering Championships in Italy, on 10 July 2014.

Round 1 of the Unofficial European Cup in Trail Orienteering (ECTO) 2014 was held last weekend in Tuusula and Nurmijärvi in Finland, in conjunction with FinTrailO, a weekend with two PreO and one TempO competition.

The IOF XXVII Ordinary General Assembly will be held on 10 July 2014 in Lavarone, Italy.

06/05/2014 || Proposals to IOF General Assembly ||News||

By the deadline of 10 March 2014, two proposals from member federations had been submitted to the IOF General Assembly. Later on, one of these proposals, namely the one from the Nordic countries concerning the IOF competition calendar in all the disciplines, was withdrawn. The IOF Council submits two proposals to the General Assembly regarding Statutes changes.

The IOF Council for 2014-2016 will be elected at the IOF General Assembly on 10 July 2014 in Lavarone, Italy. Member federations were called to nominate candidates for the Council.

Our Athlete of May, Susanna Laurila, is 25-year-old mountain bike orienteer with World Champion titles both from Junior and Senior World Championships. This year she aims to get at least one more gold medal from the World Championships in Poland.

The IOF organises yearly World Cup, World Championships, Junior World Championships and World Masters Championships. This year’s European Orienteering Championships raised the question about how to ensure event quality in all IOF Events.
