Billstam hopes for better shape tomorrow

Annika Billstam was only fifteenth in the second-last race in the World Cup, but the world champion on long distance still heads the standings before the last race.
“I had no strength at all. I was so tired”, she says. The Swede had a cold last weekend, didn’t run well in the first race in the Czech Republic and didn’t take part in the second race there. Today she was back in business, but was more than four minutes behind the winner Tove Alexandersson. Most of this time was lost in running.
“Maybe your body needed a tough race to be back in good shape?”
“I hope so”, she says.
Before the last race it is double-Sweden overall. Helena Jansson is second, 45 points after Billstam. Maja Alm from Denmark is third.
Annika Billstam leads the standings, but has lost a lot of the big gap she had set up after the World Championships in France.
