Posted on | March 4, 2016 | Category: News
Saturday March 5th will be the final IOF ski orienteering competition of the season, when the European Championships in Relay are decided. The Nations World Cup will also be decided to crown the best national team over the entire season. The Nations World Cup is calculated by counting the 3 best athletes World Cup points in each individual competition for both men and women, and adding to this points scored for the best 2 teams per nation in sprint relays, and the best team per nation in relay competitions.
After 9 individual , 3 sprint relays and 1 relay competition, Sweden are in the lead, with a margin of 61 points over Russia. Which means that there is still some excitement and nerve in the final relay competition. Finland is located nicely in third place with little chance of either overtaking Sweden or Russia, or of being passed by Norway who is currently fourth.
