The organisers of World Orienteering Championships and IOF Congress 2012 have now published the online entry system for IOF officials, delegates and guests. Please note that the accreditations should be submitted by 31 March 2012.

The IOF Trail Orienteering Commission has published two new technical notes: one about the new ‘A’ Cluster and the other about timed controls. Both documents can be found on the Trail Orienteering Organisers’ Guidelines page.

With 9 of the 12 individual races now completed, leaders in the Ski Orienteering World Cup standings are Josefine Engström, Sweden, and Staffan Tunis, Finland.
04/03/2012 || Russian victory in Mixed Sprint Relay ||News||
The Russian pairing of Andrey Grigoriev and Polina Malchikova enjoyed a comfortable victory in the final Ski Orienteering World Cup race in Kazakhstan, the Mixed Sprint Relay. They were in the Finish 1.34 ahead of their closest opposition, Finland 3 comprising Janne Häkkinen and Marjut Turunen.

It was a particularly good day for Sweden in the Ski Orienteering World Cup Middle distance mass start races in Kazakhstan today. On technically demanding courses with many route choices, Josefine Engström and Peter Arnesson took the top podium places, with Tove Alexandersson and Erik Rost both in second place.

It was again a big technical challenge for the ski orienteers competing in the World Cup in Kazakhstan. A difficult Long distance competition on an area with a multitude of narrow tracks was won by Tove Alexandersson and Staffan Tunis.

Polina Malchikova has quickly become a familiar name in ski orienteering circles. Polina won her first World Championships medals last year in Tänndalen, Sweden, where she was part of the winning relay teams and added an unexpected Middle distance championship title on top.

On a sunny but cold (-20°C) morning, home supporters were warmed by being able to celebrate victory for their own ski orienteering queen, Olga Novikova, in World Cup Sprint.
