At the 2014 General Assembly member federations of the IOF were advised of details of the IOF Competition Review project. This project seeks to examine the competition structure of the IOF across all disciplines of the sport.

The deadlines for applications to organise the Junior World Orienteering Championships 2018 and the World Orienteering Championships 2019 have been extended.

25/01/2015 || Relay gold for Norway and Sweden ||News||

At the end of two exciting relay races in which the lead changed several times, the gold medals in the European SkiO Championships Relay went to Norway’s men and Sweden’s women. The women’s race was decided in a frantic sprint finish, to the delight of the watching crowd.

25/01/2015 || Keen competition in World Masters Championships ||News||

Ski orienteers aged 35 and upwards took part this week in the World Masters Ski Orienteering Championships, held in conjunction with the European Ski Orienteering Championships in Lenzerheide, Switzerland. Kyösti Jäppinen from Finland was the oldest gold medal winner, competing in the class for men aged 85 and older.

Mervi Pesu, Finland and Andrey Lamov, Russia took the Middle distance gold medals today in the European SkiO Championships in Lenzerheide, Switzerland in a tough race, both physically and technically.

The 2015 Presidents’ Conference will be held in conjunction with the World Orienteering Championships in Inverness, Scotland.

22/01/2015 || European SkiO Championships: Sweden wins mixed sprint relay ||News||

The Swedish teams were the fastest in the mixed sprint relay today, with Sweden 1 and 2 finishing 13 seconds apart. The silver and bronze medals went to Bulgaria and Norway.
