The World Masters Orienteering Championships 2013 in Sestriere, Italy, are getting closer and the last deadline for entries is this Sunday, 30 June. A total of 2857 participants have registered so far for the championships, the biggest IOF event of the year.

The fifth and sixth events of this year’s Unofficial European Cup in Trail Orienteering were arranged at the Italian Championships in TrailO last weekend (22-23 June) in Folgaria, Italy.

This weekend sees the start of the 2013 Junior World Orienteering Championships (JWOC). The Event Centre is in the Czech town of Hradec Králové, and competitors will be encountering some of the most exciting orienteering terrain that the Czech Republic has to offer.

Estonia has been appointed organiser of the Junior World Ski Orienteering Championships and World Masters Ski Orienteering Championships 2014.
24/06/2013 || World Orienteering Championships on TV in USA ||News||
The World Orienteering Championships in Vuokatti, Finland, 6-14 July, will be broadcasted live by YLE , and shown on TV at least in Finland, Sweden, Norway, Switzerland and Latvia. But now there is one more country that will be able to watch the Championships on TV: the United States of America.
22/06/2013 || European MTBO Championships: mixed sprint relay win for Finland ||News||
The final race of the European Championships in Poland, the mixed sprint relay, ended in a comfortable victory for the Finnish team of Marika Hara and Jussi Laurila. Russia took the silver medals and Switzerland the bronze.
21/06/2013 || European MTBO Championships, Long race: six medals, six different nations ||News||
The mass start Long distance race today ended with victories for Cecilia Thomasson, Sweden, and Jussi Laurila, Finland. This was Laurila’s second gold medal of the Championships, whilst Thomasson had won a silver medal earlier in the week. The six medals were shared between six different nations.
20/06/2013 || European MTBO Championships: Marika Hara supreme in sprint ||News||
The very experienced Finnish rider Marika Hara took victory in the re-run women’s urban sprint today by the very impressive margin of 2 minutes and 24 seconds. The silver medal went to Switzerland, their first medal of the Championships.
19/06/2013 || European MTBO Championships: favourites Finland win relays ||News||
The Finnish teams, with both men and women favourites to win their respective classes, held their form in the forests around Zamosc, Poland today and ran out comfortable winners over Russia and the Czech Republic (men) and Russia and Slovakia (women).
