According to the organisers of the Mountain Bike Orienteering World Cup Round 1, the Hungarian airspace is open and ready to welcome the competitors to Hungary. The events kick off on Friday with sprint, and continue in the weekend with a middle distance race and a long distance with mass-start.
Altogether 138 riders from 19 countries have entered the first round of the MTBO World Cup, which will be held Balatonfüred, 100 km southwest of Budapest. Last year the same organisers organised an MTBO World Ranking Event, and in 2012 the Mountain Bike Orienteering World Championships will be held in Hungary.

Five-time World Champion Michaela Gigon (AUT) is one of the favourites in MTBO World Cup.
