Current leader of the Unofficial European Cup in Trail Orienteering, Martin Jullum (NOR), is also the new World Champion in TempO. In our Athlete of the Month you can read what he thinks about the future of the sport, and of himself, and how he reached the world elite level in trail orienteering.
After all, he says, he was “tricked” into orienteering, in Halden SK’s sports school for children. He became hooked, and even won some medals at the Norwegian Championships. Later, after having to retire as foot orienteer at the age of 18, he found trail orienteering. And now he is the best in the world! Next, he aims to repeat his victory in 2015 – something no trail orienteer has managed so far.
