The International Orienteering Federation, in cooperation with the Czech Orienteering Federation, is pleased to announce that the 2019 IOF High Level Event Seminar will be held on 2-3 February in Prague, Czech Republic.

The general deadline for WRE applications in the 2019 season (2018-2019 season for SkiO) is in 30th September and applications are as usual entered in IOF Eventor. Note that it is very important to get the SkiO and MTBO applications by the deadline, 30 September. The FootO and TrailO application period is a bit more flexible, but still we want to have the majority of applications in by 30th September.

Three women in the top six for Finland; four men in the top six for Russia – and in both cases including the gold medallist. This was the big story from the final day of the World MTBO Championships in Austria.

The two experienced Czech riders Martina Tichovska and Krystof Bogar took the gold medals in the World MTBO Championships in Austria today, by 5 seconds and 2.07 respectively.

Swiss rider Simon Braendli produced his best form ever to win the men’s gold in the Middle Distance race in Austria today. Russian Olga Shipolova Vinogradova was the women’s race winner.

Camilla Søgaard, Denmark and Jussi Laurila, Finland were the gold medallists in the Mass Start format in tough Austrian terrain today. The men’s race featured a mass sprint at the end, with the first five separated by just 6 seconds.
