The World Games 2021 will be organised in Birmingham, Alabama, USA from July 15 – 25, 2021. Orienteering will be present with 3 competitions, an individual Sprint, an individual Middle Distance and a Sprint Relay. The Council Event Supervisory Board has approved the qualification rules which will be used to select the 40 female and 40 male athletes who will participate the The World Games 2021.

Each year, the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) updates their List of Prohibited Substances and Methods. The 2019 List of Prohibited Substances and Methods (List), which comes into force on 1 January 2019, was published by WADA in October.

The second official South American Orienteering Championships starts with a Long Distance (WRE) in Uruguay on November the 9th. For the first time also junior and youth champions will be awarded in South America.

The PWT China Tour 2018 took place around Beijing and nearby areas. The overall winners on the 2018 tour were Yannick Michiels (BEL) and Karolin Ohlsson (SWE).
