The 2nd Egyptian International Orienteering Championships took place in Sharm el Sheikh, Southern Sinai, Egypt in early February 2017. A surprise addition to the schedule was the first TrailO/PreO event to be held in Egypt.

Olt Cup 2017 was the first orienteering competition held in Romania this year. The competition was named the “First challenge” of 2017, and took place in a very special venue: a salt mine. The competition had almost 300 participants, but perhaps most notable was the number of spectators, which was almost 1000.
