Matthias Kyburz took another convincing victory at The World Games in Cali, Colombia, today. An amazing 1:37 min gap on the middle distance to the silver medallist Daniel Hubmann was a surprise event to the winner himself.

The World Games sprint was held in the popular park El Ingenio in Cali, Colombia. Annika Billstam, Sweden, and Matthias Kyburz, Switzerland, were the clear winners on the long but fast sprint courses.

The World Games orienteering events have been opened. IOF President Brian Porteous thanked the organisers, the local organising committee, the International World Games Association, and all the athletes participating.

The IOF Council has decided to provisionally approve the use of the 2013 version of the Emit touch free punching system at foot orienteering World Ranking Event level.

The women start at 10 AM Colombian time, and men at 11 AM Colombian time for the first orienteering competition at The World Games in Cali, Colombia.
01/08/2013 || World Masters Orienteering Championships first start on Sunday ||News||
Masters competitors will soon arrive in Sestriere, Italy for the World Masters Orienteering Championships (WMOC) to be held in conjunction with the World Masters Games (WMG) multisport event. This year’s championships will have participants from a total of 45 countries including ARG, BRA, CHN, HKG, IND, ISR, KAZ, MDA, SRB, RSA and URU.

The first live athlete interviews from The World Games 2013 will be on today, Thursday, after the model events at Parque Multicentro. Øystein Kvaal Østerbø (NOR), Matthias Kyburz (SUI) and Maja Alm (DEN) will be answering your questions starting at 1pm local time (8pm CET).
