As the new World Ranking system comes into effect on January 1, 2014, one of the major changes is that there will no longer be any races where the competitors do not score points.

Several national federations have developed web-based IT services for managing events, entries, results and reporting. These services have made competition organising more efficient and of better quality. The IOF has decided to investigate the possibility to purchase similar services, based on the requirements identified by the IOF.

New editions of the IOF Competition Rules for all four disciplines are now available. The new rules for ski orienteering will be valid from 1 December 2013 while the rules for foot, MTB and trail orienteering will be valid from 1 January 2014.

The IOF invites all member federations to submit applications to organise the World Ski Orienteering Championships 2017, Ski Orienteering World Cup 2015-2016, Junior World Ski Orienteering Championships 2016 and World Masters Ski Orienteering Championships 2016.

The IOF, in cooperation with the Swedish Orienteering Federation, is pleased to announce the IOF High Level Event Seminar to be held 1-2 February in Gothenburg, Sweden.
28/10/2013 || European Youth Orienteering Championships in sunny Portugal ||News||
The European Youth Orienteering Championships took place in Portugal 24-27 October. Altogether 362 athletes from 32 countries participated in the events in classes W/M 16 and 18.
