The general deadline for WRE applications in the 2019 season (2018-2019 season for SkiO) is in 30th September and applications are as usual entered in IOF Eventor. Note that it is very important to get the SkiO and MTBO applications by the deadline, 30 September. The FootO and TrailO application period is a bit more flexible, but still we want to have the majority of applications in by 30th September.

IOF invites all member federations to apply for IOF Events and the next application deadline is 2019-01-01.

Orienteering will be one of the sports represented in The World Games (TWG) 2021 in Birmingham, Alabama, USA. Bulletin 1 is now released and can be found in IOF Eventor.
07/09/2018 || Sprint, Sprint Relay and Middle Distance at the World Cup Final in China 2019 ||FootO, News||
China will host the World Cup Final 2019 in Guangzhou in southern China. The competitions will be held between the 25th and the 29th of October.
06/09/2018 || European Ski Orienteering Championships 2020 in Russia ||News, SkiO||
The IOF Council has appointed Russia as organiser of the European Ski Orienteering Championships 2020. There have been difficulties in finding organisers for major events in Ski Orienteering and 2020 is no exception; Russia was the only bidder for ESOC 2020.

Tove Alexandersson, Sweden has a commanding lead in the women’s standings, but there are three athletes in serious contention for the men’s title at the finals in Prague next month. Switzerland has a small lead in the Team World Cup.

02/09/2018 || Sweden and Norway win World Cup Relay ||FootO, News||
Sweden and Norway were on top in the Relay at the World Cup Round 3/pre-WOC in Norway. The Swedish women were never threatened by any other team during the Relay. The men’s race was exciting to the very end and was decided only at the last few controls, with the Norwegian last leg runner Magne Daehli’s ice cold finish bringing his team to victory ahead of the two Swedish teams on his tail.
